With the sustainability research initiative, the Swiss Academy of Sciences, together with its sister organisations and the association of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences, strengthens research for sustainable development in Switzerland. It supports science in participating in a sustainable development of society. A special focus lies on inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration.

An interdisciplinary project

The sustainable research initiative is a project of the platform science and policy (SAP). The interdisciplinary project relies on knowledge and competences form the diverse working groups within the Academy.
