Academy 2030

Knowledge, data, and education on sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda in Ethiopia and Kenya

This platform is the product of an international research collaboration between the University of Bern, the University of Applied Sciences Eastern Switzerland, swisspeace, SwissTPH, PH Bern, CETRAD and the Water and Land Resource Center.

Academy 2030

The 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda are highly interrelated and addressing SDGs and their targets in concrete development contexts requires inter- and transdisciplinary research approaches and multi-sectoral action. Academy 2030 focuses on partnerships to mutually develop and test innovative, multi-sectoral approaches to integrate and share knowledge and data on SDGs 3, 15, and 16 (“Good Health and Well-Being”, “Life on Land”, “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions”) in Ethiopia and Kenya and to illustrate ways of unboxing and understanding trade-offs and co-benefits between SDGs and their targets. Through such applied approaches and the provision of learning materials, Academy 2030 can enhance societal dialogue and support policy processes towards the implementation and monitoring of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
